Chancellor has urged to intervene as small businesses on struggle with double whammy of bigger tax and weaker pound.
Britain's retailers fear that they will have to raise prices for consumers due to economic uncertainty and volatile currency movements caused by the Britix vote face 2.3billion pound tax hike next April.
A tax on retailers pay will surge by 465.8 million pound a year for the next five years, a total of more than 2.3 billion pound over the period.
